Brittany Murphy, 32 year old actress and cutie pie, died suddenly in her home on December 20, 2009. I was so saddened by this news. From her quirky, hilarious role as Ty in “Clueless” to her haunting and memorable characters in both “Don’t Say a Word” and “Girl Interrupted” – she has always been one of my favorites. I adored her ability to go from funny to dramatic – sweet to chaotic. Her role in “Just Married” with Ashton Kutcher had me smiling from ear to ear.
Brittany always fit her roles perfectly. I never saw a role of hers that did not match her style or her fine acting abilities and cute sense of humor. Her bubbly smile and upbeat personality always had me looking forward to interviews. What a sad and unexpected loss for her husband, her family, and for Hollywood – and her adoring fans that will forever remember her further than her roles in movies.
Brittany is survived by her husband, Simon Monjack, her mother, Sharon, her father, Angelo Bertolotti, her two older half-brothers, Jeff and Tony Bertolotti, and a younger half-sister, Pia Bertolotti.
As Ashton Kutcher tweeted so eloquently – “see you on the other side, kid”.
